Summer is on the way and we’re bringing another slice of nature to your doorstep! Join our session to discover how connection to nature can boost your wellbeing and resilience.

In the rush and pressure of everyday life, stress can quietly build up and leave you feeling disconnected. This webinar explores how reconnecting with the earth can help you slow down, reset, and restore your wellbeing.

This is the second webinar in our gardening series hosted by a team of ‘Postcode Gardeners’. These are professional gardeners who support communities to restore greenery and wildlife with the support of Friends of the Earth and The Co-operative Bank.

Rooted in Resilience – how to grow your wellbeing with nature this summer

In this 60 minute session, Ciarán McLoughlin, Postcode Gardener in Manchester, will talk through our innate connection to nature and how it helps to heal cognitive fatigue caused by digital overload.

What you'll learn

  • How our DNA is hardwired to seek nature for safety and regulation
  • We’ll explore nature’s healing qualities in improving mental health
  • The microbiome link between the soil and our physical health
  • How nature mirrors our universal human needs

You’ll also enjoy a live workshop, ‘The Seed of Intention’ along with a guided meditation and mindfulness activity. We encourage you to bring a seed along, as well as a journal and pen to help engage with this activity. If you can, join the session outdoors or surrounded by house plants indoors.

There’ll also be space to ask Ciarán some questions.

Finally, we'll look at some recent successes from the Postcode Gardener programme, funded by Friends of the Earth in partnership with The Co-operative Bank – with the community gardening programme continuing to grow around England and Wales.
