2024 End of Year Report

The UK Health Alliance on Climate Change 2024 End of Year Report presents an overview of who we are and what we have delivered throughout the year.

2024 was a year that presented opportunities for the health community to come together in calling for governments and the health sector to deliver transformative action for the better of people and our planet.

We achieved this by working with our membership to develop and deliver:

• A manifesto outlining our priorities for the UK general election and subsequent engagement with the new government
• Publication of a policy report and recommendations for governments to deliver a just energy transition for the good of health
• Publication of a policy report and recommendations for governments and the health sector to build a healthy and sustainable food system
• Delivery of the UK policy brief for the Lancet Countdown on Climate and Health presented to the UK delegation attending COP29
• A response to the government’s consultation on delivering an NHS fit for the future with a vision to achieve positive, long-term change with sustainability at the core
• Development of Our Commitments to support our membership organisations to achieve their sustainability goals
