Description

In a circular economy materials are kept in use for as long as possible, reducing the need for new resources and minimising environmental impacts from extraction to disposal. This approach not only benefits the environment but also helps people in their everyday lives.

We explore how a circular economy could help with the cost of living, with increased reuse, easier access to repair, and more durable products all acting as money savers. It could bring an end to the frustrations and costs of planned obsolescence, as well as revitalising communities. Public polling also reveals how much people hate waste and how ready they are for greater ambition on resources.

In this visual report, we outline five reasons why a circular economy is good for people, and propose three actions for the government to deliver these benefits.
