Description

This tutorial will explore how to capture evidence to align Green & Heritage Social Prescribing projects with the health system, through the experience of Delapré Abbey!

Delapré Abbey is a 900-year-old site of a former nunnery and the 1460 Battle of Northampton, with 550 acres of Parkland. Since 2020, the Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust has worked in partnership to facilitate access to nature, heritage and physical activity to support health and wellbeing.

Hear from Richard Clinton, Delapré Abbey's Chief Executive, about how their programme of gardening, walking and creative wellbeing activities has evolved into an evidence-led prevention asset referenced within Integrated Care System strategies.

This tutorial will explore how Delapré Abbey:

  • Embedded independent evaluation from the University of Northampton from the start
  • Worked with health partners to co-develop a monitoring framework aligned to NHS standards
  • Built confidence and skills in VCSE providers to collect data
  • Built formal social prescribing referral pathways

Delapré Abbey brings together nature-based, heritage, arts-based and physical activity offers, making its learning relevant to all social prescribing providers.

As part of NASP’s GSP Process Journey project, you’ll receive Delapré Abbey's Process Journey prior to the event, so you can come prepared with your questions!

What is a Process Journey?

A Process Journey is a focused, step-by-step account of how an organisation navigated and overcame a specific challenge as part of establishing or strengthening a GSP offer.
