Description

Technology plays an increasingly important role in our health and care system. This shift towards technology can, and should, be positive; technology can drive change, facilitating better outcomes and experiences for people and communities. Yet technology still presents challenges for patients and staff, such as having multiple apps with siloed records, variation in adoption and use, a lack of digital options, and insufficient accessibility features.

With the government outlining its ambition to shift from analogue to digital, and with exciting developments in technologies (such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and miniaturisation of diagnostics), the use of data and digital technology in our health care system is only going to grow. But how can we make this ‘tilt towards technology’, in a way that is inclusive, engages people and communities and builds public confidence in, and support of, digital solutions?

This conference will provide an opportunity to consider what is needed to achieve the 10-year vision for a digitally enabled and transformed NHS where all areas of the health system in each part of the country is digitally mature, able to share data, and using technology to improve patient outcomes. We’ll explore how you can support and develop the skills and confidence of the health and care workforce, build leadership capabilities to deliver change, put people and communities at the heart of digital transformation, share best practice and innovation, reduce national variation, and plan and building capabilities for embedding future innovation.
