RCR Sustainability Study Day
Description
This in person event will provide a comprehensive overview and practical advice on implementing sustainable practice within radiology and oncology departments.
The morning session will consist of presentations from oncologists and radiologists, but also additional perspectives from surgeons, anaesthetists and ICU consultants, collectively providing practical advice and assistance on reducing the environmental impact of our practice, without compromising the quality of our care, and how best to overcome obstacles and resistance.
Speakers include:
- Hugh Montgomery (Professor of intensive Care Medicine, UCL, founder Real Zero)
- Andrea Rockall (Professor of Clinical Radiology, Imperial, past President ESR)
- Anna Kirby (Professor of Clinical Oncology, Royal Marsden and Institute of Cancer Research, London)
- Alexandra Hammond (Associate Director, Net Zero and Sustainable Procurement at NHS England)
The afternoon session will draw on the expertise of the faculty and interactive participation from delegates in a series of small group workshops, tackling specific sustainability challenges and initiatives, aiming to pool expertise and develop frameworks for shared practice and quality improvement templates.
