Description
Human activity is reshaping Earth’s natural systems at an unprecedented scale, undermining the very foundations of our health and survival — from the air we breathe and the water we drink, to the food we grow, our vulnerability to infectious diseases, and the livability of our communities.
As the global environmental crisis continues to shape our world, understanding the interconnectedness of human health, animal health, and the environment has never been more urgent. This webinar, co-hosted with the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) Professionals’ Education and Training Working Group and the Planetary Health Alliance (PHA), will explore the frameworks of Planetary Health and One Health, providing clarity on key terminology and their roles in addressing the global challenges we face.
We will define Planetary Health, explore the scope of the framework, and provide an overview of Planetary Health topics, which encompass environmental changes and their impacts on health. We will also define One Health, outline the key focus areas of the framework, and highlight how it addresses the dynamic relationships between human, animal, and environmental health.
This session will focus on the common ground between these two frameworks, emphasizing how they can work together to drive actionable change. Experts in the field will share insights on how these frameworks align in the context of climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, land use change, and their impacts on health.
Join us for an informative discussion that will provide a clearer understanding of these frameworks and how they can help address the pressing environmental and health crises of our time.
