Working with nature is increasingly championed as an effective ‘win-win’ climate response. However, it remains unclear how much this is reflected in policy and planning, and the extent to which urban areas – and particularly informal settlements – feature in these efforts.

This paper examines how nature-based responses are reflected in policy frameworks in selected countries in the global South, and the extent to which they are specifically applied to urban and informal settlement contexts.
