Jobs & Skills for a New Economy: Building a Collective Action Agenda

The transition to a low-carbon, resilient economy could generate a net 375 million new jobs over the next decade, making it one of the single, biggest job-creation opportunities of our time. But realizing that opportunity depends on whether countries and businesses invest deliberately in the people who will drive it forward.

A flagship report on this agenda has identified three fronts where action is urgently needed: better planning to embed jobs and skills into climate and economic strategy, better delivery to strengthen skills systems and labor-market matching, and better finance to fund workforce transformation at scale. This event is convened by the Jobs and Skills for the New Economy (JSNE) Initiative, a global coalition of businesses, funders, governments and implementing partners working to place jobs, skills and social equity at the center of the transition to a low-carbon, resilient economy.
