Women in healthcare leadership face particular pressures that can make sustaining wellbeing challenging, from the pressure to prove themselves, to balancing leadership with caring responsibilities, navigating expectations around confidence, setting boundaries and managing expectations of how a leader ‘should’ behave. This practical online learning session will explore these pressures through honest personal stories of burnout and recovery, with a particular focus on the experiences of women leaders and what we can learn from them.

Drawing on insights from Icon’s Doctors’ Wellness Programme, the session – brought to you by the IHF Women in Leadership SIG – will offer practical ideas for women leaders to recognize the signs of burnout, protect their own wellbeing and create healthier, more supportive environments for their teams. The panel will explore how to set sustainable boundaries, manage competing demands, and challenge some of the expectations that can contribute to burnout, while considering how leaders can support the wellbeing of those around them. There will also be time for Q&A, providing an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and explore practical challenges with fellow leaders.
