Description
This set of three open courses on good practices and lessons learned from the Marine-Coastal Adaptation Project in Peru aims to share strategic knowledge, innovative approaches and practical learning derived from the implementation of the PAM Project (Adaptation to Climate Change Impacts on Peru’s Marine-Coastal Ecosystem and its Fisheries), developed between 2018 and 2023 by the Ministry of Production, the Peruvian Sea Institute (Imarpe) and Profonanpe with funding from the Adaptation Fund.
This project focused on reducing the vulnerability of coastal communities to climate change through the implementation of concrete measures in two pilot sites: (i) Mancora, which covers from Mancora to Cabo Blanco, and (ii) Huacho, which covers the area from Carquin to Chancay.
These courses seek to organize and disseminate good practices and lessons learned, promoting knowledge transfer to empower local stakeholders, technicians, officials and organizations interested in replicating and scaling up effective models of ecosystem-based adaptation, organizational strengthening, territorial management and sustainable economic development in similar contexts.
