What is the Carbon Literacy Action Day?

The annual International Carbon Literacy Action Day is the world’s largest climate education and action training event.

It offers an opportunity for as many learners as possible from all walks of life, organisations, sectors, backgrounds and nations all around the world, to complete their Carbon Literacy training simultaneously on a single day.

The CLAD window of participation starts on Monday 10th November until Thursday 13th November, with the expected record-breaking day taking place on the 13th, coinciding with COP30 – the largest climate event of the year. And so, while world leaders gather to discuss and negotiate on climate policy in Belém, Carbon Literacy learners will be on-the-ground learning, collaborating and becoming empowered to take impactful action on climate change.

The Action Day is fully inclusive and open to all, and on the 13th of November 2024, we hope to witness thousands of people from all walks of life, and all around the world, participate and complete their days’ worth of Carbon Literacy training – but we can’t achieve this without you.

If you are interested in taking part or wish to find out more and are unable to attend the introductory events, please register your interest via this Action Day 2025 Sign-up Form and we will provide you with a comprehensive guide with key information on what the Action Day is and how you can successfully take part.

The Carbon Literacy Project and its partners have developed a growing range of sectoral courses and materials to make it easier and simpler to adopt Carbon Literacy including for the Automotive, Civil Service, Digital and Tech, Healthcare, Universities & Colleges, Sports, SMEs, Museums and other Cultural sectors, Local Authorities and Social Housing sectors. We are actively advancing our efforts in diverse sectors, including Finance, Built Environment, Fashion, and Community development.
