Glyphosate Science: Cancer, neurotoxicity & endocrine disruption

Glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides are widely used in conventional agricultural systems around the world and in home and garden products in the US and other countries. Human exposure to glyphosate is widespread and poses serious health concerns, including for children’s health. 

The Global Glyphosate Study, a multi-pronged effort bringing together a wide range of experts to address multiple health endpoints, has led to the publication of key research results on the carcinogenicity of glyphosate, as well as yielding information on other health endpoints. The Seattle Glyphosate Symposium, held in March 2026, culminated in the publication of a scientific Consensus Statement on the urgent need to address health harms of glyphosate. In the context of this scientific consensus, in June 2026 the US Supreme Court held that US states may not require warning labels about carcinogenicity of glyphosate because the US Environmental Protection Agency does not require such a warning.
