AACR SPECIAL CONFERENCE IN CANCER RESEARCH: DNA METHYLATION, CLONAL HEMATOPOIESIS, AND CANCER
Healthcare and clinical specialties
CONFERENCE COCHAIRS Stephen B. Baylin, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland Margaret A. Goodell, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas Peter A. Jones, Van Andel Institute, Grand Rapids, Michigan This AACR Special Conference will integrate and highlight recent research regarding the central role of DNA methylation in human cancer. It is timed to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of a seminal AACR Special Conference on “DNA Methylation, Imprinting, and the Epigenetics of Cancer” that set the stage for many breakthroughs in this field and emphasized the role of DNA methylation in particular, rather than attempting to summarize research in the field of general chromatin biology such as histone modifications, etc.

Description
The 2025 Special Conference is being developed to take advantage of recent discoveries which have had a major impact and revitalized and restimulated interest in this field – including topics such as:
- Clonal hematopoiesis
- DNA methylation in a chromatin context
- DNA methylation and hydroxymethylation in immune cell function
- DNMT3A mutations
- Interpretation of methylation signals
- New concepts in cancer epigenetics
- New DNMTis, combinations, and responses
- Normal and abnormal methylation patterns and detection
Ample opportunities for podium presentations will be available for highly-rated abstracts submitted for the conference – including both plenary session talks and “lightning” talks before each poster session. Make plans to join us in San Diego for this exciting AACR Special Conference.
