Phasing out PVC in healthcare: Are we there yet?
Description
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), still widely used in medical devices and hospital products, can release hazardous additives that pose real risks to patients, healthcare workers, and the environment. Fortunately, hospitals are increasingly taking steps to replace it with safer alternatives. Still, important questions remain: how close are we to achieving PVC-free healthcare, and what more needs to be done to get there?
Key topics
- Health impacts of PVC in healthcare
- Implementation challenges and lessons learned
- Actions to accelerate the transition to PVC-free healthcare
Co-organised by HCWH Europe and Health and Environment Justice Support (HEJ Support), as part of the PVC-free healthcare project, this webinar will review where we are today and explore what is needed next to advance safer, PVC-free healthcare systems.
