Climate Adaptation in Action: The Role of UK Local Authorities
The event will centre around the recently published report, The Role of UK Local Authorities in Climate Adaptation as part of the UK Climate Risk programme. The report highlights the critical role that local authorities play in preparing communities, infrastructure, services and local economies for the impacts of climate change, while also identifying barriers that councils face in delivering effective adaptation action.
Description
The MACC Hub and the Climate Change Committee are organising a workshop which offers a valuable opportunity for local authority officers, policymakers, practitioners and partners to hear directly from the CCC and explore the growing role of local government in climate adaptation.
Bringing together experts, local authority representatives and sector stakeholders, the session will provide space to reflect on the latest evidence, share experiences and discuss the practical challenges and opportunities facing councils across the UK.
