Zero Hour

Zero Hour

Information

Zero Hour campaigns for the action the science demands to avert climate and nature breakdown. We are dedicated to locking the science into law and ensuring a fair transition for all communities. We mobilise urgent, collective action by empowering citizens and pressuring policymakers to enact systemic change—before it’s too late.

We were the campaigning group behind the world-leading Climate and Nature Bill campaign, which created one of the biggest pressure moments on climate and nature in the UK in this Parliament when the Bill had its Second Reading debate in January 2025.

The Strategy

If we can combat the threat of climate and nature breakdown, we can create better conditions for people to live and to thrive – better health, lower bills, clean livelihoods, homegrown food, and access to rich nature.

But within politics and in society at large, bad faith actors are putting further progress on climate and nature action at risk, and all whilst we inch ever closer to critical red lines that scientists tell us will be crossed by 2030.

We therefore have just over three years to make fast and tangible progress on climate and nature issues, before it’s too late.

In this context, Zero Hour’s strategic plans are three-fold:

  1. Push for new legislative change that will deliver climate and nature action based on science, by mobilising both citizens and politicians; including getting the new Nature + National Security Bill passed into law;
  2. Rebuild the cross-party consensus within Parliament for strong climate and nature action, being led by a vanguard of MPs from the Climate & Nature Crisis Caucus;
  3. Help make UK communities more resilient and more united, by developing a network of networks which connects action-taking citizens to each other for greater strength.
