Information
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is a ministerial department of the UK Government responsible for energy policy, energy security, and the transition to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Created in February 2023, it took over energy-related responsibilities from the former Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). DESNZ plays a central role in shaping the UK's energy system, supporting clean-energy deployment, and helping meet the country's legally binding climate targets.
