On the morning of Aug 26, an enormous section of a glacier in the Himalayas collapsed, triggering flash floods of water, rock, and ice along Nepal's Bhote Koshi River. It struck several districts in Nepal along the border it shares with Tibet, taking with it people, homes, roads, and bridges, cutting off entire communities.
