Medications and Obesity

In March 2024, the National Academies' Roundtable on Obesity Solutions hosted a public workshop to address the implications of obesity medications on policy and legislation, economics, access, public perception, and population health.

Discussions covered the safety and efficacy of medications that affect weight status, integrating medication as part of comprehensive obesity treatment, and opportunities and challenges of new obesity treatments in the clinic and beyond.
